We all know that Steve Tyler is going to be starring on American Idol this season. Other than the excitement, many feel this will be a chance for him to remind us of why we loved him for all of those years. Many of you know, Steve Tyler began struggling with his drug addiction at the age of 12. He began trying a variety of different drugs at this age, but had little idea that trying the drugs would lead to a lifetime of addiction, relapse and recovery.

Steve Tyler’s fans we’re not aware of the fact that he was abusing drugs for many years while playing in Aerosmith. When the public found out, they were disappointed, angry and many fans begin to distance themselves from the band for a long time. Steve finally realized that the drugs we’re taking over his career and began the road to recovery. Recovery was going well for Steve Tyler, until his doctor prescribed him some prescription pain medication, hoping to ease his pain.

After 12 long years of recovery, Steve Tyler began to abuse prescription medication and once again started living life searching for that ‘high’. He continued this lifestyle for several years, finally entering a celebrity rehab for several weeks. Steve has since been sober, but I’m sure many of his fans are wondering how his is doing in his recovery and what is keeping him strong right now. Maybe all of his fans will finally get the current update we have been waiting for.
