You know a band really has talent when they are loved from generation through generation. When Aerosmith started in 1970 and quickly become a hit among many. Both the young and old quickly become fans of the band and waited to see what was to come of them. Aerosmith has only gotten better and gave us more get hits since that time, a reason as to why they continue to be one of the best bands ever.
Throughout my time reading about Aerosmith, I’ve come across a few interesting facts about the band that I think other Aerosmith fans will enjoy. For example; the song sweet emotion is written about Steve’s nerves at the time. Each sentence of that song represents how he was feeling at that given moment, especially a deep anger at band member Joe’s x-wife. Also, did you know that Tyler is only Steve’s stage name? Yup, that’s right. His real name is Tellarico, but many of his fans don’t realize that.
Sadly, I have not had the pleasure of seeing Aerosmith tour since 8 years ago. That’s a long time and I feel I’m hitting the first stages of withdraw. I was talking to a fellow Aerosmith fan, as we tend to discuss the band often over coffee. From what I understand, the band is still together, of course! But, I guess Steve Tyler is taking a break from touring and recording, because of his hosting period on American Idol. While I love getting to see him on TV on a weekly basis, I think I’d definitely prefer a good concert opposed to him judging people (98% of them without any talent.. sorry).
I don’t normally watch American Idol, because for one it isn’t my thing and two, in the past Simon had really aggravated me- to the point that I’d be yelling at the TV in frenzy. He didn’t seem to have any compassion what-so-ever. Anyway, seeing that Steve Tyler was going to be one of the judges on American Idol, made me want to take a look this year.
We all know that Steve Tyler is going to be starring on American Idol this season. Other than the excitement, many feel this will be a chance for him to remind us of why we loved him for all of those years. Here it comes. Tonight is the big season premiere of American Idol, and though there have been so many shows that are basically the same exact idea, American Idol is a force to be reckoned with. It seems last season that J LO and Steven Tyler brought the show to a new level of stardom. So come on Steven Tyler, with your wild print pants, and ton of sequins, maybe this time America is ready for you. I am willing to be the producers of idol are sitting happily with their trigger finger on the bleep button though.
I am hearing that what we saw last year was just a taste of awkward sexual innuendos that Steven Tyler had to offer, and it may be even worse this year. Love him or hate him, you gotta give the guy some credit for trying. The team seems to work really well together, Randy has become the realistic, semi-cruel guy, J LO plays the role of "don't give up the ship", and Steven is actually just like a drunken Paula. The man knows his music though, and every once in a while when he is not belting out one of his screams, he has something intelligent and helpful to say. Read more about Ready or Not....
Did you grow up with Aerosmith? I, myself, did. I can think back and remember my parents playing Aero on the radio while sweet dreams played, and how their friends gathered around and all belted out the words. I recall going over my friend’s houses when I was a child and sitting at the kitchen table while their dad had a beer and listen to Aerosmith blaring from the garage. It was certainly an educational experience. Or something like that.
I think one of the main reasons as to why I love Aerosmith so much, is because those around me who i respected, acted as if the music were the key to life itself. I, myself, have to say that at times I feel the same way. I don’t listen to them on an everyday basis, but I will admit that my kids have learned some of the songs and like to sing along when I’m in a cleaning mood and decide that Aero will make the best background music. Steven Tyler's rock/television/fashion influence seems nowhere near fading. Andy Hilfiger, Tommy's brother who is also a fashion designer, is creating a rock-inspired clothing line called Andy Charles. Many of the designs are based on Steven Tyler’s wardrobe, particularly the clothing Tyler wore in the 1970’s. Tyler will also serve as the official ambassador of the line.
